GROVE SQUARE
Located a short distance from the University of Virginia, near Main Street towards downtown Charlottesville, Grove Square will be one of the largest mixed-use developments in the city's recent history. A mixture of residential, office, and retail space will rise on a surface parking lot and adjacent parcels lying between a historic neighborhood and freight-railroad tracks.
Phase I consists of a 113,000 sf office building with an attached parking deck for 928 vehicles. Phase II will see the construction of 50,000 sf retail/office building, and Phase III will bring four levels of residential with street-level retail and additional parking below grade. Phases II and III will frame a hardscaped, tree-planted plaza geared towards outdoor dining, while Phase IV will provide four levels of residential over two levels of below-grade parking. More information on Grove Square is available in our "Urban Planning" section.
