GROVE SQUARE

Located a short distance from the University of Virginia, Grove Square will be one of the largest mixed-use developments in Charlottesville's recent history at more than 700,000 sf. A mixture of residential, office, retail space, and structured parking for over 900 vehicles will rise on a surface parking lot and adjacent parcels lying between a historic neighborhood and railroad tracks. During the early stages of Grove Square's public approval process, City leaders and local residents praised the project's creation of new, well-framed, cafe table-filled public spaces which will act as connective tissue between the new mixed-use structures and the existing apartments and houses surrounding the site. Comprehensive, human-scaled planning and design will help knit this exciting new project to the increasingly vibrant urban fabric of Charlottesville.
