Mitchell/Matthews' programming, master planning and design services were sought out by Christopher Newport University for a new Greek village.  The 5-acre site, located on the western edge of campus, will provide twelve fraternity, sorority and specialty housing residences.  Consistent with the University's master plan and as a measure to promote a cohesive architectural character consistent with the developing campus, this village was designed in the vocabulary of traditional Georgian architecture.  The environmentally responsive site development will relegate parking to the rear of the buildings and provide convenient recreational and social spaces, gardens, greens and common areas adjacent to and between buildings.
